How this is measured
Fexr listens to the public liquidation streams of Binance, OKX and Bybit and adds up every forced close in five-minute buckets. A long is liquidated when the price falls to its liquidation price, a short when it rises to it. Binance publishes at most one liquidation per market per second, so the totals are a lower bound. Hyperliquid liquidations are not included yet.
Source: market-wide liquidations from the public Binance, OKX and Bybit futures streams; Binance sends at most one liquidation per symbol per second, so totals are a lower bound; Hyperliquid liquidations are not included. Data as of 30 Oct 2026, 19:25 UTC.
Why it matters
A liquidation is a forced sale or purchase. When many longs are liquidated together, each forced sale can push the price far enough to trigger the next, so a large total means leverage made a move bigger. It says little about what started the move.
A one-sided day, mostly longs or mostly shorts, shows which side of the crowd was caught out.
